Beyond Huge! With $10.7 trillion worth of assets under custody and administration, Northern Trust opens doors to Cryptocurrency hedge funds
The markets response seems to go well with this news
Big News. Bitcoin is now official currency of the USA. Dumps 10%.
Because there was a typo in the Trump tweet that announced this.
Now it turns out that the real official currency of the US is Bitc0in, a hard fork of Bitcoin that is based on the principle of "Proof of moon rockets".
Just waiting for the day ETF passes and price just dumps short after just like gold did. Everyone loses their asses and the smart peoples swoop in
Because the market cycle doesn't give a funk about news.
it is great news, really. It seems like the great news even outweighs the bad news lately. Too excited to see what happens in the next 3 months.
The great news has been constantly out weighing the bad news. Let me just jot down few of the great news: (PS each of these alone would have given a massive pump in 2017) .
Bittrex Fiat pairs
Binance fiat pairs
This NT bank
Swiss banks and stock exchanges adding crypto
All of this suggests there is one giant ride up, but so far nothing... maybe its suppressed by futures, whales, who knows at this point .
I interned at both Northern Trust and PwC, these moves have been considered for a while. They represent legitimacy for blockchain and, to and extent, cryptocurrency. It also allows them to establish a foothold in an area that has yet to see competitive players - that is, blockchain audit and crypto hedges.
Bitcoin is going to do nothing though 2018/19. Little pops, little dips.. Everyone will lose interest. But out of nowhere, it's going to rocket straight up. 20k will look like the 1000 surge years back. Just keep accumulating.
The question is how much of it will be invested in cryptocurrencies
They are just assisting hedge funds in tracking crypto assets and using blockchain for office settlement.
Northern trust is historically slow to change. This is as close as they can get to "we should take a look at crypto" before you hit "regulatory concerns."
This is also because NT takes its reputation incredibly seriously. It won't risk being caught up in assets so untraceable.
Yeah, they're not planning on actually holding any with all of those trillions of dollars. They are only going to be giving financial planning advice regarding cryptocurrencies.
Big if true
True if big
Chicken if egg
Egg if first, ends
no its more like no one gives a fuck anymore and most of society sees the cyrpto bullshit for what it is , nothing more than a pump and dump.
The time to get in was at the beginning, that ship has sailed ,you will now never find enough suckers to allow the current crop of suckers to cash out at anywhere near what they were hoping for .
Wow another article about so much money coming into crypto. I'll believe it when I see it
Googling Northern Trust show about $1 trillion in assets under management. That’s a pretty huge discrepancy from $10 trillion. Makes me question the entire article.
Custody vs Management, very different...
I looked at their corporate website and it states $10.8 trillion USD ($10.8 under custody, $1.2 under management).
